Nigerian music super star Tiwa Savage has denied that she was behind the leak of her intimate bedroom video saying if she had wanted to she would have worn a nicer and sexier dress for the occasion.
Savage instead revealed she was being blackmailed by a blogger identified as Gistlovers over the bedroom video she shot with her current boyfriend.
Last week Tiwa said her boyfriend mistakenly posted their video and immediately deleted it before it went viral. However, a blogger managed to get hold of the video and was now blackmailing Tiwa.
She revealed that she was not willing to pay the blogger anything and they were free to put the video out.
“No part of me wants to pay the person. That is what is getting me angry,” she said. “If you want to put it out, put it out. I am that crazy that I can put it out myself. You are not making any money from me. This was an intimate moment with someone I am dating.
“The person I am dating is not famous, he is a regular guy and his whole business is about to be out.”
She added that she will prepare her son to be ready for the backlash that may come his way due to the tape.
“I am going to talk to my son about it. For me, it is when he is older at about 15 and someone is rude to him at the playground and they make reference to the tape. I have to brace him up,” said Tiwa.
Some of her fans have accused her of being careless with her privacy while some say it was all a planned publicity stunt.
Reacting to the backlash, the Dorobucci hitmaker posted on her Instagram stories that the tape will not destroy her because she has changed the narrative around it.
“You hated how I was able to control the narrative and get ahead of a story before it consumed me and how I was able to joke on stage about something you thought will destroy me and make me ashamed.
“You must knock my head head when you see me otherwise…” she wrote.
