South African rapper Refiloe Phoolo, better known as Cassper Nyovest, has signed a mega deal with a local shoe brand, Drip Footwear, in what they call ‘The Legacy Deal’.
It’s not a surprise that Cassper has signed the R100 million (US$ 74 390) deal as he has been making money moves with other big brands including Ciroc.
The ‘Good for That’ rapper has on various occasions made appearances at Drip stores and has been wearing Drip sneakers in a number of his videos.
Speaking about the deal Lekau Sehoana, founder of Drip Footwear said;
“The synergy of two businessman coming from similar backgrounds sparked this alliance. This is a celebration of two brands working to reach international markets and inspiring the young ones in Ivory Park, where I grew up, and Mafikeng, where Cassper is from.
“With consistency and faith, they too can reach these heights, no matter which dusty streets you’re from.”
The deal was signed under Cassper’s own company, Family Tree which is not only a recording label but also a clothing brand too.
Posting on his Instagram Cass said, “Today is a big day. Today is a beautiful day. It’s one of those days where your hard work pays off. We made it. We became a boss, you know, in the city of Joburg. When I came here I was sitting at the back of a van. (Chuckle.”
Through the partnership the two brands (Drip and Family Tree) are set to launch a lot of unnamed products and work hand in hand beyond music and footwear.
Posting on his twitter Cassper said, “The Ink should be dry by now. I can confidently announce The Legacy Deal. To God be the glory cause this is him showing himself. Truly grateful!!”
