Although the lock-down has resulted in the closure of bars, night clubs and restaurants making the potential revenue of music artistes and entertainers to decline, DJ Maphorisa posted pictures and content on social media shopping lavishly in Sandton City.

Some of Maphorisa’s followers who were not amused by this publicity stunt on social media and called him out.

Saying his recent stunts on social media were contradicting his previous comments when he called for the lock-down to be lifted because it had negatively impacted entertainers’ livelihoods.

Maphorisa however, justified his actions saying he called for the lock-down to be lifted not because he was broke but a team player selflessly looking out for others that had fallen on hard times.

“I am sorted with racks, I have gang of bags for days, I was saying the whole country is suffering, nna I have a plan. I think for other people, get it? If I want to, I can go to (Diamond Walk) every day,” said Maphorisa.
