Lawrence Maleka to host new season of ‘Big Brother Mzansi’

Television presenter Lawrence Maleka has been unveiled as the new presenter for the return of ‘Big Brother Mzansi’

The SAFTA winning actor who is best known for his character as Zolani on 1Magic’s telenovela ‘The River’ is by no means a new comer to the TV presenting and hosting arena.

He has previously hosted Africa Magic Entertainment’s ‘StarGist’ and Mzansi Magic’s ‘Clash of the Choirs’.

Earlier this year he co-hosted the South African Music Awards (SAMA’s) alongside actress and dancer Bontle Modiselle Moloi.

Speaking about the gig he said, “I’m excited to be part of this installment of Big Brother Mzansi.

“The franchise has become a massive phenomenon in African as well as South African pop culture, and I’m happy to join in the fun as a presenter.

“The fan base is huge and massively loyal- it’s an honour to be part of such a fantastic production.”

Recently appointed director of Entertainment Channels at M-Net, Shirley Adonisi praised Maleka for his talent and described him as the ‘perfect choice’.

“Lawrence has proven to be one of the top young talents on our screens, his vibrant and confident screen as well as stage presence is a perfect fit for ‘Big Brother Mzansi’. We can’t wait for viewers to tune in to what’s certainly going to ve a very exciting season,” said Adonisi.

The new season of Big Brother Mzansi will premiere on January 23, 2022, on DStv Channel 161 Mzansi Magic and the 24 hour broadcast channel 198.
