The Queen Sono star who recently caused heated arguments about colourism on twitter, posted on her twitter platform excusing herself from all the criticism with the cliché ‘I’m human’.

“I’m definitely messy, problematic, confusing etc… But I’m human.”

“I work on myself constantly, consistently and persistently. I love that about me,” she wrote.

The most recent incident was when the ‘Behind The Story” host was called out for her views on colourism. She had once gotten into a heated twar with former Afternoon Express host, Bonnie Mbuli on how opportunities for black actresses differ on whether they are dark or light skinned.

“So when light skinned actresses complain about the one or two roles they didn’t get coz they weren’t dark enuf; I’m like but the part ur crying about was being the slave who gets raped and beat up in the thing, ppl who look like u have never had to be in that position to begin with.

In response Pearl said, ” You have absolutely no clue which other parts I didn’t get but because it makes you feel better to believe my acting career is working out only because I’m light skinned.”

“And for someone who survived depression and wrote a book about it you sure love spreading negativity.”

This year was no different for Thusi who got cyber attacked after she captioned a post “Brown Skin Girl… skin just like pearls,” making reference to Beyonce’s Black is King song.

During her BET, Behind The Story show she then addressed all the attacks which later fueled the criticism. She said while interviewing Khanyi Mbau who has been attacked for bleaching and changing her skin color to look like a white person.

“Let me live my life, live yours, I have worked very hard for what I have and if my light skin is going to help me feed my kids and that’s what you want to believe, then you know what, believe it but I’m really exhausted.”

Thusi has received a lot of cyber bullying to a point where she couldn’t take it anymore and had to take deactivate her social media accounts.

She has also been accused for being in a lesbian relationship with her best friend Dj Zinhle.
