The South African Revenue Services (SARS) has given house musician Prince Kaybee ten working days to pay off what he owes the taxman or risk losing some of his property and other assets.

The Gugulethu hitmaker reportedly owes over R2million in unpaid taxes to SARS, which has led the tax authority to institute legal proceedings against him.

Prince Kaybee has been given 10 business days from receiving the letter of demand to either apply or pay in installments if he is unable to pay the full amount.

According to the letter, if the musician is not able to make the payments, his property will be seized by the sheriff of court.

“In addition to the above remedies and in anticipation that SARS may appoint a third party as set out above, you may within five business days from the date of receipt of his letter of demand apply to SARS for the following,” the letter reads.

โ€œIf you are a natural person, you may apply for a reduction of the amount to be paid to SARS based on your and your dependent’s basic living expenses.

“If you are a non-natural person, you may apply for a reduction of the amount to be paid to SARS based on serious financial hardship.โ€

Last year, Prince Kaybee sent tongues wagging when he showed off a fleet of trucks, which reportedly forms part of his growing business empire. The musician is reportedly involved in winery, with a wine brand that is currently on the shelves in South Africa.
