Over the weekend, media personality Mohale Motaung scooped his first international award while his ex-husband got an international award nomination for his cookbook at a different awards show.
Mohale scooped the Africa Choice Awards, Male personality of the year category.
An overly excited Mohale took to Instagram to celebrate his latest win.
He said, “Y’all need to wake up because I was awarded with a male personality of the year International award in Nigeria last night. A special thank you to everyone that voted.
“A super thank you to the @africachoiceawards team and my amazing management team @allinn_management for always pushing me! South Africa, we brought this one home.”
He was nominated alongside his countryman Oros Mampofu, Ghana’s Bismark Nii Odoi and Mawuli Gavor and Nigeria’ Kidd wayya and Ozoemena Chukwu.
Meanwhile his estranged husband Somizi Mhlongo is also celebrating an international award nomination.
The media personality has chalked up yet another feather in his cap with his cookbook: “Dinner At Somizi’s: I Am Not A Chef” which has been nominated for the International Gourmand Awards.
He also took to Instagram to share the good news and his excitement.
“Nazo…. thanks for your support africa and South Africa. @tasticricesa this book would not have existed…. to my entire team…. thanks and my friends and family….” said Somgaga.
The former couple’s achievements come when they are in the midst of a very public and messy divorce. They both made headlines a few months ago after Mohale alleged that Somizi was physically and emotionally abusive towards him.
Somizi dismissed the allegations but admitted they were heading towards a divorce and their lawyers will work on it.
