Hard times for Kelly Khumalo… Bank bids to repossess luxury car
It keeps getting worse for South African Afro- pop star Kelly Khumalo, as she tries to calm the storm of her implication in the murder of her slain boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa, Nedbank is moving in to repossess her luxury ride after failing to pay up her installments.
Nedbank’s vehicle finance wing, Motor Finance Corporation (MFC), has filed papers at the Johannesburg High Court for a judgement to repossess the songbird’s luxury Porsche Cayenne Tip Tronic vehicle after she defaulted on her payment.
According to South African local publication, Khumalo took a loan of R500 000 to buy the 2011 model road monster on March 24 2017. According to the agreement Khumalo was supposed to pay under R10 000 in monthly installments excluding insurance, until April 4 2023.
During lockdown in July the singer defaulted on her installments and owes more than R62 000.
In August the bank cancelled the sale agreement after trying to reach out to Khumalo in July to settle her debt but she refused to play ball.
According to the Bank’s lawyers DRSM Attorneys they wrote to Khumalo to surrender the vehicle but she didn’t.
The lawyers further said summons were served on her on September 11 but she failed to show up to defend her actions within 10 days as prescribed by the law.
Now they have approached the courts to grant the bank judgement and the warrant to force Khumalo to surrender the vehicle and forfeit all the money she paid in installments. Telly Africa
