Veteran South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube heads for another divorce

Date:

Veteran South African actor Sello Maake kaNcube’s marriage to his wife Pearl Mbewe is reportedly on the rocks, after the former Generations star asked his legal representative to initiate divorce proceedings.

KaNcube and Mbewe reportedly had a fallout last year over his flirtatious behaviour with other women.

According to Sunday World, the issues between the two came to a head last year when Mbewe found out that KaNcube was courting another woman, the US based Cynthia Hlala.

After a confrontation between them, KaNcube then reportedly kicked Mbewe out of their matrimonial home. She then subsequently moved back into her own house.

Meanwhile, Hlahla is said to have rejected KaNcube’s advances because of the fact that he was still married.

“She said he was just pretending to love her, saying she knew he was in love with Pearl. She even asked him to be honest with her and tell her if he wants her to help him leave South Africa for the US instead of lying about having the hots for her,” said a relative who spoke to Sunday World.

The actor then approached Swanepoel van Zyl Attorneys on January 10 and asked them to help him file for divorce. The legal firm, through Anel de Lange, confirmed receiving the letter as they asked for a deposit payment in order to proceed.

“We confirm that we are able to assist you in the above matter, confirming that should you wish to proceed, the divorce proceedings may be initiated,” a letter from the firm read.

“In order to proceed, however, we kindly require that a mandate and fee agreement be signed, a copy of which is attached hereto.

“You will also note that we require a R25 000 deposit in trust, as it is imperative that we brief counsel and instruct the sheriff of the court to attend to the necessary service of documents.”

While Mbewe declined to comment, Maake kaNcube confirmed that he had contacted the lawyers to help him file for divorce but said he said nothing was concrete yet.

“I have not even paid them yet,” he said.
