Singer Zahara slams DJ Sbu for ‘lying’ about Loliwe album payment

Date:

South African singer-songwriter Zahara has challenged music producer and entrepreneur DJ Sbu to sit down with her in a TV interview to set the record straight on the money that is still allegedly owed to her for her Loliwe album.

This comes after popular tweleb Barry Roux tweeted that he wished Zahara could re-record the Loliwe album so that fans can buy it and the money goes direct to her.

His tweet implied that Zahara was still owed his royalties by DJ Sbu. In response DJ Sbu was quick to slam the tweet with pictures of what appeared to be evidence that Zahara was paid her royalties.

“Ms Zahara’s money has always gone to her my brother,” said Sbu.

Zahara was also quick to slam DJ Sbu’s claims saying she never received any funds for the work she did on the Loliwe album.

Speaking to a local news outlet she said, “Its all lies. I haven’t been getting anything since I left the record label, and I saw recently that my music was uploaded on digital platforms without me knowing, which means they sold my records to somebody and it means I need to get a cut for it.”

Zahara added that she had been trying to contact DJ Sbu and his team but no one has been answering her calls.

“When I tried to communicate several times even last year, I tried so many numbers to contact them and no one answered their phones…. I always call them… they don’t care.

“DJ Sbu must stop lying, He must be in a studio with me one day somewhere… a TV interview where U say what he says he … he must stop lying because he is a coward,” he added.

Zahara concluded the interview by saying that she is focusing on her music and a new album which she is set to release next month.
