Cassper Nyovest donates R150 000 to fan in need of lung transplant
South African rapper Cassper Nyovest is on a mission to save the life of one of his fans, Nompilo Dlamini. Nyovest donated R150 000 (US$10 518) after he was moved by the story of the young woman from Swaziland who was in need of a lung transplant.
26-year-old Nompilo has been documenting her journey of living with cystic fibrosis on social media and recently she posted saying she was in desperate need of R2 million (US$140 552) for an operation as her condition has reached the last stage.
The ‘Good for that’ rapper decided to chip in with R150 000 and he shared the proof of payment on his social media encouraging others to also do the same.
“Just donated R150 000 to #SaveNompilo. Please donate what you can to help. Nothing is too little. Even R10 will help. It’s a Swazi account so you have to go through global payments if you’re in SA. The goal is 2 million Rand,” said Cass as he captioned his FNB proof of payment.
Last week Cass posted a video encouraging his fans to take part in the #SaveNompilo initiative.
“Her story touched me because she was very positive even though she is going through so much… I believe together with you we can save her life, it doesn’t matter how much you can donate…” he said.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help Nompilo raise the needed funds and so far R89 578 (US$6297) has been raised through the platform.
Meanwhile Cassper Nyovest has also been trending for the right reasons after he released his first amapiano album and his fans had nothing but good praises for him.
