Media personality Bonang Matheba is taking legal action against podcaster Rea Gopane who claimed the 33-year-old introduced ex-boyfriend, rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes, to cocaine.
During an episode of his Podcast ‘The Rea and Black Step Podcast’, Gopane said he was informed by media personality Siyabonga ‘Scoop’ Ngwekazi that Bonang introduced AKA to cocaine and now the rapper is hooked because of Bonang.
“Scoop told us that AKA is on coke, and Bonang is the one that got him into cocaine. Scoop told us that, bro, after the interview we had with him right in here at this place. He told us in confidentiality,” said Rea.

Bonang was clearly not pleased with these accusations as she regarded them as ‘defamatory and hurtful’ in a letter served to Rea via her twitter account.
Bonang posted the two letters served to the YouTube star. The lawsuit from Thompson Wilks Inc begins by stating how regrettable it is that Rea got served through social media because he had been ignoring calls from Bonang and her team when they tried to contact him privately.
“On Sunday 9 May 2021 you falsely and unlawfully accused Bonang Matheba in a widely published video clip of, inter alia, having introduced AKA (Kiernan Jarryd Forbes) to cocaine.

“In the context of what was being discussed in a video clip this defamatory allegation was exacerbated by the shocking insinuation that the death of AKA’s girlfriend Anele ‘Nellie’ Tembe was due to AKA’s alleged use of cocaine,” read part of the statement.
“The allegations were defamatory, hurtful and were deliberately intended to humiliate my client and undermine her reputation…. To this end I am instructed to demand from you, payment of the sum of R500 000 (US$35 375) within 10 days. Should this sum not be paid within the time prescribed, I have instructions to issue summons without further notice to you,” read the lawsuit.
In case you are wondering why Bonang is taking legal action against @reagopane. And apparently Scoop aka Siyabonga Ngwekazi is next.👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 pic.twitter.com/xvVNyKTeY8

Prior to posting the letter on social media Bonang had asked her fans to help her with Rea’s email address.
“… Does anyone have Rea Gopane’s email address? … Hi darling… why are you running? Give us your email address and stop being a coward!” she posted.
This comes after AKA has been publicly accused of using drugs and feeding them to his late fiancée, Nellie who committed suicide in April.
