South Africa: 6 months imprisonment or fine for not wearing a mask in public

South Africa: Justice Minister Ronald Lamola yesterday announced that citizens that breach the New Disaster Act regulations will be liable to 6 months imprisonment or a fine.

Lamola said whether perpetrators caught in public without masks would be sentenced or fined would be determined by circumstances that led to the public exposure at the magistrates’ discretion.
