South Africa: Justice Minister Ronald Lamola yesterday announced that citizens that breach the New Disaster Act regulations will be liable to 6 months imprisonment or a fine.

Lamola said whether perpetrators caught in public without masks would be sentenced or fined would be determined by circumstances that led to the public exposure at the magistratesโ€™ discretion.
