HARARE – The backlash from the revelation that Cassper Nyovest cheated on his baby mama while his son was struggling with cancer might have spilled over the Limpopo after some fans walked out of his performance in Harare over the weekend.
Nyovest, was billed as the headline act on the second day of the three day Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival at Thornpark Polo Grounds.
According to H-Metro, some fans began trickling out just over 20 minutes into the rapper’s set. Other performers on that same day included Nutty O, Feli Nandi, DJ Neptune of Nigeria, Skyroot and Rax The DJ.
A fan who spoke to the tabloid revealed that he had quit on Nyovest because of the scandal that preceded his appearance in Zimbabwe.
“Personally I don’t like what he did to his baby mama, that is why I am going home,” said a fan.
Last week, Thobeka Majozi, the mother of Nyovest’s child, revealed that the rapper had cheated on her with the woman that he is now married to.
“At eight months, my son was diagnosed with cancer. An entirely different world. I always stood on protection and privacy. Trying to maintain ‘the world’ and my world was a marathon on its own.
“I lived in an oncology hospital for two years with my son as he underwent chemotherapy and life threatening surgeries. In the depth of fighting cancer. I was hit with a curve ball of infidelity.
“The woman knew me, my son’s condition and made no mistake with flaunting their relationship. After finding out, he ended it with her and tried to make amends with me. I couldn’t trust someone who can hurt me at my lowest.”
Nyovest went on to apologise, as he acknowledged that all the allegations were true.
