‘I am grateful I came out alive’ – Natasha Thahane speaks after split from Lorch

Date:

In a cryptic post on Instagram, actress Natasha Thahane has now suggested that she might be a victim of domestic violence at the hands of her ex-beau, South African footballer Thembinkosi Lorch.

Thahane announced her split from, Lorch this week in an Instagram post.

“Thembinkosi Lorch and I have decided to part ways romantically. Despite the change in our relationship we will remain friends and co-parents. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life, #NewBeginnings,” she posted.

However, posts on the same account suggested that their break up might not have been as amicable as she indicated, with strong hints that she was a victim of violence in the relationship.

“Suba muncu! This happened a long time ago. Now let me post in peace! Abo ‘heal’ animeni. I am grateful I came out alive,” she posted.

After she initially announced her breakup from Lorch, Natasha had shared a clip of Rihanna’s interview with Oprah where she recounted the abuse she allegedly experienced at the hands of singer Chris Brown, which sent tongues wagging.

The posts have alarmed social media users, who quickly brought up Lorch’s recent history with domestic violence.

In November last year, Lorch escaped jail time for assaulting his ex- girlfriend Fundiswa Nokuphiwa Mathithibala after the Randburg Magistrates Court handed him a five year suspended sentence and a R10 000 fine for the offense.

Lorch, who was found guilty by the same court in June, was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
