“I was gonna win that fight” – Makhadzi mocks ‘cowards’ Zodwa Wabantu, Manaka Ranaka

Date:

South African singer Makhadzi has mocked the fighting skills of socialite Zodwa Wabantu and actress Manaka Ranaka, claiming she would have knocked out the two ladies if she was involved in Sunday’s high profile boxing bout.

Generations: The Legacy actress Ranaka exchanged leather with Zodwa Wabantu in a celebrity bout at Ridge Casino in Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, South Africa on Sunday.

Initially, Zodwa was supposed to trade blows with Khanyi Mbau, but the actress pulled out, claiming a clash in schedules.

Her place was then taken by Manaka, who plays shebeen queen Lucy Diale on Generation: The Legacy.

If videos of the fight circulating on social media are anything to go by, the duo did not leave up to the fight’s high billing, with many mocking them for their lack of effort and skill.

Joining the chorus of critics was Makhadzi, who wrote on Instagram that she felt that she was a far superior boxer to the two.

“Not me yesterday watching a boxing match ya sis Zodwa and sis Ranaka and wished it was me. I could have beaten both of them ka round 1. It was painful to watch Two magwala fighting. Kunini ngithiyooo I was gonna win that fight shem,” she wrote.

Makhadzi’s followers encouraged her to also get into the ring and even went as far as listing some potential opponents.

Celebrity fights in South Africa were popularised by rapper Cassper Nyovest, who has taken part in three such bouts recently.
