Pop Smoke, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, was murdered during a home invasion in Los Angeles on Feb. 19, with the motive still unclear if it was a random robbery or a targeted crime.

Pop’s death sent shockwaves in the hip-hop community, as major artists such as Chance the Rapper, Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent, Ludacris, and more mourned the loss of a young man and artist who had star potential.

Burna Boy, whose collabo with Pop Smoke already leaked, is expected to be joined by fellow Nigerian superstar Davido on the album.

A music page, using the handle @MusicRature on Twitter, the two would be Africa’s sole representatives on the album.

“Davido and Burna Boy will represent Africa on the Pop Smoke album. @davido announced it on Twitter a few months ago and a song by @POPSMOKE10 and @burnaboy has leaked. See you on Friday for this long-awaited album from the rapper, may he rest in peace.”

The May tweet where Davido wrote, “OBO X @realpopsmoke June 12” has been taken as confirmation that he would indeed feature in one of the most anticipated posthumous albums in recent years.
