South African Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has resigned and President Cyril Ramaphosa has accepted the resignation. In a statement, the president thanked Gigaba for his longstanding service to the government and the people of South Africa.
Transport Minister Blade Nzimande will act as Home Affairs Minister until an appointment has been made. Joining us from the Waterkloof Airforce Base outside Pretoria, is the President’s spokesperson, Khusela Diko.
